Our Story

Built around practical outcomes, not AI enthusiasm

myquantivo was founded in Kuala Lumpur by a team with backgrounds spanning data engineering, quantitative modelling, and enterprise software delivery. The firm emerged from a recurring observation: organisations in Malaysia were interested in AI but struggled to move from pilot to production.

Rather than offering broad consulting or strategy work, we chose to focus on three specific applications where AI systems have demonstrable value and where we could develop deep methodology. Each service reflects a problem we have encountered repeatedly in the field and have built structured approaches to address.

We work directly with clients — no subcontracting, no offshore delivery teams. Every engagement is staffed by people who have done this work before and who will be accountable for the output.

What Guides Us

Mission and values

Directness

We say what we think. If a problem is not well suited to an AI approach, we will tell you that rather than fitting a solution to a mismatched problem. Honest assessment produces better outcomes than accommodating optimism.

Rigour

Every model we build is evaluated against defined quality criteria before it is delivered. We document methodology, record assumptions, and make the evaluation process transparent so clients can form their own view of the output.

Accountability

Work is done by the people named in the engagement. Deliverables are reviewed against the scope before final handover. We stand behind what we produce and remain available to discuss the output after project close.

How We Work

Quality standards and protocols

Data confidentiality

Mutual NDAs are signed before any client data is accessed. Data is processed solely for the defined project purpose and not retained post-closure.

Defined evaluation criteria

Each model or system is assessed against agreed performance metrics before handover. Evaluation methodology is documented and shared with the client.

Documentation standards

All deliverables include technical documentation covering methodology, assumptions, limitations, and operational guidance for the client's internal team.

PDPA compliance

Data handling practices are aligned with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Appropriate safeguards are applied to all personal data processed during engagements.

Version control

All code and model artefacts are maintained under version control throughout the engagement and delivered as part of the final handover package.

Structured communication

Scheduled checkpoints at key milestones, written progress updates, and a dedicated point of contact for each engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

Applied AI expertise in Kuala Lumpur

myquantivo operates at the intersection of data science and enterprise delivery, working with organisations across financial services, insurance, and professional services sectors in Malaysia. Our work focuses on three AI application domains where the gap between research and production delivery is well understood and manageable within a defined project scope.

Fraud detection systems require careful attention to data imbalance, feature construction, and threshold management — problems that are technical in nature but with significant commercial consequences if not handled properly. Report summarisation systems require domain adaptation, output format design, and quality assurance mechanisms that go beyond standard model benchmarking. Executive education on AI requires translating a complex field into a framework that supports strategic decision-making rather than creating dependency on technical vocabulary.

Our team brings direct experience in each of these areas and a working approach that emphasises client knowledge transfer alongside the deliverable itself. We are based in Kuala Lumpur and work with clients across Malaysia and, where appropriate, the broader ASEAN region.
